This social service organization sought our advice on whether to centralize its accounting function, which had been dispersed among four regions, each of which operated its finance function autonomously. As a result of the Whittlesey & Hadley consultation, the organization centralized its accounting function in order to gain efficiencies and control over the overall financial condition of the organization.

• A multi-million dollar institution that facilitates student loans. Whittlesey & Hadley provided an operational review of a branch of the organization. The engagement consisted of reviewing input, processing and output controls and making recommendations for improvements in processes and changes in staffing.

• A stage agency that receives flow-through grants from the Federal Government. Whittlesey & Hadley performed agreed-upon procedures to assist the agency with its due diligence and monitoring requirements. The work helped the agency to receive a very favorable audit report by the Inspector General and continue to receive its critical funding from the federal government.

• A social service agency that assists women in abusive environments. The Technology Group, our technology entity, consulted the agency on its accounting systems and trained personnel. The agency’s MIP accounting data file was customized to better meet the needs of the agency.

• A $1.3 million professional membership organization. Our accountants assisted with a smooth transition to a new computerized general ledger system.
